I’ve finally found a quick moment to breath! After working 16 hour days last week during LA Fashion Week, I’ve found a moment of clarity.
Last week, was utterly insane! I’ve met so many people, made so many connections and discovered so many talented designers. Which leads me here, my top 4 designer picks from LA Fashion Week
4. Radka Salcmannova
I had the pleasure of getting to know Radka in a interview I did with her Bedford her runway debut. Hailing all the way from the Czech Republic, Radka started out as a sculptor and somehow found her way to fashion design by working as an art director. You ever meet someone with a great energy and that translated into everything they touched, that’s Radka. Her pieces are avant-garde and remind me of McQueen.
3. Mary Me Jimmy Paul
Fun, quirky and yet still stylish, MaryMe JimmyPaul has already been seen on Rihanna, Gaga and Ariana Grande. This brand is all about having fun. While most of the made of plastic, I found myself obsessed over the fringe-tweed looks! Definitely Jean Paul Gaultier meets Moschino.
2. Bishme Cromartie
Crazy how the universe introduces you to people. I met Bishme at my niece’s birthday party but had no clue he was a designer until I saw a mutual friend at his pop up in Baltimore. We’ve seen Bishme’s custom designs on everyone from Karrueche, Andra Day to Mel B. and Jazmine Sullivan. What I dig most about Bishme is he reminds me of an Parisian Atelier, everything is pretty much made to order and you can feel the love he puts into every piece. That’s rare nowadays.
1. Noe Bernacelli
Making his US debut, Noe Bernacelli hails all the wait from Peru. Noe’s designs romantic gowns consists of intricate beading and lace on a chiffon palette. The line also featured tailored men’s suits to accompany the gowns. Reminded me of old Hollywood glam, I’d definitely could see Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt killing the red carpet, only if they were still together.
