Today we celebrate Kanye West 40th birthday and whats a better way to honor the former Louis Vuitton Don than with some of his greatest moments in Fashion. Just like we all have a favorite Ye’ album, we all have a favorite Ye’ fashion era. I honestly prefer anything pre 2012 (shade), though the fashion on Yeezus was impressive. I’m not here for the homeless/bodysuit monochromatic look where I have to pay 600 bucks for a sweatshirt that I can get at Walmart.
So here’s to you Kanye, we hope you give us 40 more years of style.
Yesterday, Kevin Durant debuted the Off White x Nike Air Jordan 1’s as he arrived for game 2 of The Finals. This collaboration doesn’t have a release date yet but I’m sure it will be sometime mid summer. They will retail for $350.

Looks like Russell Westbrook has a little competition in the Basketball Player/Fashion Designer world. Now Dwayne Wade isn’t a novice to fashion as he has an accessories line, Way of Wade with Li Ning but now he’s partnering up with Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared to launch Dsquared2 x Wade which will be exclusive to Saks 5th Ave.
Wade wanted to be able to take his collection from day to night with this capsule. The fashionably athletic inspired collab will consist of a 9 piece collection with nylon bomber jackets, embellished collar shirts, tuxedo jackets and what’s a collaboration with a 3 time NBA champ without fitted joggers?
Wade, who has sat front row next to Anna Wintour multiple times, actaully credits Bon Jovi for getting his start in fashion. He noted that he mention to Bon Jovi that he wanted to a fashion line and was asked, “What have you done?” Wade responded “Nothing,” Jovi told Wade to build his portfolio. Which is what he did and now Wade has arrived.

Designer Tom Ford is always a force to be reckoned with! He makes some of the most amazing pieces to me. His style and creations are always so suave and classic. Nothing like a property tailored tom ford suit! Tom Ford himself is very charismatic, quick on his toes, and knows his good side! I am so in love with his new Spring 2017 Collection! He also has been named as of GQ’s men of the year which is much deserved. Check out some looks from his new 2017 men collection!
Gucci continues to take us on whirlwind adventure as Alessandro Michele presented his f/w 17 collection as models walked through a glass tunnel. The theme, The Alchemist Garden: An Anti Modern Laboratory, which basically emphasizes going against the grain of fashion, which Gucci has done since Michele’ has become creative director.
Nothing is normal about Gucci. From pairing a glitter full body suit with a tank top and shorts to mixing embellished plaid shirts with shiny vinyl pants, this collection perfectly combines couture with street wear.
Beyonce dropped by the NBA All Star Game in New Orleans in $21,945 Gucci embroidered tiger print silk kimono. The kimono, which is available for pre-order, made its way to the runway durning the men’s spring/summer 2017 fashion show!
Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, described the kimono as, “unexpected.”
“There’s something so special about a woman who dominates in a man’s world. It takes a certain grace, strength, intelligence, fearlessness, and the nerve to never take no for an answer. Amelia Earhart was such a dynamic force in her industry, setting multiple aviation records in her time. So it was a no-brainer for me to team up with Harper’s Bazaar in honor of a woman who held her own with the big boys.” —Rihanna
Rihanna covers Harper’s Bazaar’s 150th Anniversary issue. Chic but sexy, Rihanna channels Amelia’s utilitarian look and she is to die for. Amelia Earhart’s essay, originally published in Harpers Bazaar in 1929, gave tips on how women could travel fashionably.
Here’s an excerpt:
“What does the woman aviator wear? This question is asked me as often as any other connected with aviation. Ten years ago I could have described a flying costume. It would have consisted of helmet, goggles, leather jacket, breeches, and some sort of high boots. There were no traditions but those of wartime flying to follow, and both men and women adopted or modified it to suit commercial needs. Also, flying fields were usually dirty, planes were crude, and there were no refinements in facilities, such as passenger waiting-rooms, and so forth…..
Usually, on a solo flight, I wear low-heeled shoes, because with low heels it is easier to keep my feet braced on the rudder bar… On the Friendship flight I couldn’t follow the rule of wearing sports clothes. The trip was a pioneering one, and comforts were not thought of. Clothes suitable for “roughing it” had to be taken. For instance, there was no step from the pontoons to the door, and I couldn’t have jumped into the plane in a skirt….”
