Today we celebrate Kanye West 40th birthday and whats a better way to honor the former Louis Vuitton Don than with some of his greatest moments in Fashion. Just like we all have a favorite Ye’ album, we all have a favorite Ye’ fashion era. I honestly prefer anything pre 2012 (shade), though the fashion on Yeezus was impressive. I’m not here for the homeless/bodysuit monochromatic look where I have to pay 600 bucks for a sweatshirt that I can get at Walmart.
So here’s to you Kanye, we hope you give us 40 more years of style.
I see myself in Balmain by Loreal!
Loreal and Balmain have teamed up for a for a lipstick collaboration that will have us all outside of our neighborhood walgreens or rite aid. The 3 theme 12 shade collection will debut in September at Paris Fashion Week and an exclusive “jewel edition” that will be carried at Balmain.
“With L’Oréal Paris, Rousteing brings the raw creativity with which he has reinvented Balmain, from the Paris runways to his first ever beauty collection,” L’Oréal and Balmain said in a joint statement. “Accessible beauty and high fashion now have a symbolic meeting point: This new Color Riche limited collection with Balmain Paris.”
Finally they are getting it right. Not all of us have the deep pockets to buy a $40 lipstick. I’m sure sick of it!

Images of the Jeff Koons x Louis Vuitton were released today and two nights ago celebs partied it up at The Louvre in Paris to celebrate the collection. According to Vogue, everyone toasted the night away and danced to Rae Sremmurd, Lil’ Yachty (eye roll) and whats a party without Drake (double eye roll*). I can only imagine Michelle Williams (Dawson’s Creek not Destiny’s Child) yelling “I got fake people showing fake love to me..”
This is the first series to drop in their collaboration and this go round is famous paintings and the painters name on the exterior. Pieces start at $585 and are as much as $4000! It hit stores April 28th and if you want a statement piece for the summer, please wake up in time to get in line, its only available in stores.
Editor in Chief, Alexandra Shulman, of British Vogue announced her retirement, we all were wondering WHO’S UP NEXT? Okay maybe the rest of the world didn’t use those exact words but still. Well, Vogue announced the amazing Edward Enninful will be her successor. Talk about Black Excellence.
Here’s a quick history lesson on Enninful. Edward got his start at I-D magazine as Fashion Director at 19! See mom, you shoulda let me run off after high school to NYC to model, who knows where I would be lol. He went on to work for I-D for almost 20 years, while also contributing to Italian and American Vogue.
In 2004 he received the Isabella Blow Award for fashion creator at the British Fashion Awards. Enninful was also appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his services to diversity in the fashion industry by none other than Queen Elizabeth.
Not to mention for the past 6 years, Edward has been the creative and fashion director at W Magazine. Not bad.
With all these accolades under his belt, Enninful was almost predestined for this role of Editor in Chief at Vogue. I van not wait to see what he does with Vogue. He will begin his role August 1st.
At the moment, there is no time frame for the brand relaunch date but many are speculating the brand might be shutting down shop as HBA canceled their Paris show in March, Leilah Weinraub, the brands cheif executive will focus on her film career. HBA did state, “Oliver will be devoting himself in the immediate future to his responsibilities at Helmut Lang. HBA will continue to fulfill its creative vision in the near future.”
This is the second time HBA has gone on hiatus. The first time was in 2009 when Ruiz Lopez parted ways with the brand. Hopefully, HBA wont be gone for too long!
Also in other designer jewelry news, Kanye West dropped his 12 piece collection on Yeezy Suppy. Again, not for the faint of heart. Prices start at $1,500-$10,780. Inspired by Florentine art from the 14th century, Kanye said he “wanted to create something that represented timeless love.”
Kim K. has already been spotted rocking necklaces from the line. Some of the pieces, like the Yeezy 18K Yellow Gold Bracelet, reminds me of Marco Bicego (Beach-e-go)! Nice!

9 years ago the savagely beautiful Naomi Campbell finished her community service at a sanitation station in NYC draped in Couture Dolce and Gabanna. How did Naomi Campbell end up there?
Well let’s just say she and Foxy Brown have something in common. Campbell suspected her maid of stealing her favorite pair of jeans and hurled a phone at the poor lady!
Though there are few photos of Campbell actually working at the sanitation station but there are tons of photos of her killer wardrobe!

Ok, ok, ok!!! Lupita wore the Gucci number FIRST at the Cannes Film Festival followed by ME in the Fall of 2015 but I did know that Beyoncé bought hers not too long after I donned the dress. Back then, I wasn’t at liberty to say but I felt very honored that Queen Bey and I have similar taste! Beyoncé just keeps taking a page out of my wardrobe and I’m ok with that!
I must say Muva looks amazing in this gown as she shows off her pregnant belly and the adorable Blu Ivy! I must say Lupita killed us both though! The emerald green compliments her complexion so well.

Since the departure of Hedi Slimane, we all have wondered what his successor, Anthony Vaccarello, is going to do with the brand. My friends, I am thoroughly pleased with Anthony’s takeover and yearn for many pieces such as this off the shoulder number.
BUT NOTHING compares to these babies that graced the runway on Milan! I like to call these boots that were made for walking, “I Wanna Rock With You!” These show stopping Swarovski encrusted boots have already made a home in Rihanna’s closet (of course) and is deemed the it boot of the season!

Gucci continues to take us on whirlwind adventure as Alessandro Michele presented his f/w 17 collection as models walked through a glass tunnel. The theme, The Alchemist Garden: An Anti Modern Laboratory, which basically emphasizes going against the grain of fashion, which Gucci has done since Michele’ has become creative director.
Nothing is normal about Gucci. From pairing a glitter full body suit with a tank top and shorts to mixing embellished plaid shirts with shiny vinyl pants, this collection perfectly combines couture with street wear.
