STL CRAVINGS: WHEN THE FLIGHT LANDS AT LAMBERT

When it comes to St. Louis foods what are some things that first come to mind?  Maybe Imo’s Pizza, Chinese food (St. Paul sandwich if you want to be exact), White Castles, Gooey Butter Cake, and Vess soda.  This list could go on and on.  I have spent the majority of my life in St. Louis so the food holds a special place in my heart, and my craving gets real as soon the plane touches down at Lambert.  I decided to share with you all some of my must have foods outside the typically norms for most St. Louisans when I visit home.

GOODY GOODY

So I think it is time for a moment of honesty with you all because we are fam!  I schedule early flights not so I can spend more time with family, but so I can catch Goody Goody before they close at 2pm.  This restaurant has been around since 1948 and it’s the first stop I make once getting to St. Louis.  Each time I go I always see a familiar face, and the consistency of the food has NEVER changed.

CAFE MOCHI

This is has to be one of my favorite places to grab sushi in St. Louis.  The environment is super casual, they have outdoor seating, creative specialty rolls, and a bomb happy hour from 4:30 – 7:30pm.  Featured below is the specialty sushi roll I have a hankering for each time.  Their happy hour includes not only drinks but also your basic sushi rolls as well.

Pi Pizzeria

Let’s be clear I love me some Imo’s, but Pi Pizza provides you with an entire dining experience.  Pi has grown over the years and has several locations in St. Louis, a spot in D.C. , and a recently Cincinnati.  The amount of fresh toppings they have is endless and they have some great sides to compliment their pizza.  One of my favorite apps is their Blazing Wings featured below, and its more of a dry rub situation going on.  And I will let you in on a little secret that their sangria is underrated, and is like the unsung hero of their menu!
