ClassPass Review

What is ClassPass?  It is a fitness startup based in New York City that gives customers the ability to sign up for a monthly membership.  This membership allows you to try different boutique studios that include cycling, yoga, barre, Pilates, and more.  ClassPass was actually founded by two females and the service they provide is available in 39 different cities.  ClassPass offers three types of monthly memberships which include Go (2 classes), Base (5 classes), and Core (10 classes).  I have heard so many millennials rave about ClassPass I decided to give in as part of my whole deep dive into More Self-Care in 2017.

ClassPlass has a great smartphone app that is available Apple and Android that makes scheduling a class easier than ordering that latte via Starbucks mobile app.  Classes are made available to book a week before at noon local time ahead of the scheduled class.  Even if you have commitment issues you are able to cancel your class 12 hours before the scheduled start time of the class.  If you don’t cancel your class or you are no show you are hit with a $20 charge.  I don’t know about you but the fee provides me with motivation to actually attend the class.

Through ClassPass I was introduced to meditation via the studio, The Path, which is located at The Standard Hotel in Meatpacking.  Imagine an hour of mediation with a breathtaking view of NYC!   I will mention that apparently meditation is popular amongst others and that class mysteriously is ALMOST ALWAYS FULL.  With that said you HAVE to be quick on booking their Tuesday night class.  Also, through ClassPass I have been able to take a lot of beginner classes for yoga.   I would not say I am a professional yogi now but I am definitely able to keep up in a yoga class and know the majority of the positions.  Some of my favorite studios in NYC include:

This is not just an NYC thing but is also available in STL, DMV, LA, and other cities as well.  Check out a glimpse of their studios that are available in some of the areas I mentioned.

If you would like to give ClassPass a try you can feel free use my referral code and you will get $30 off your first month regardless of which membership you pick.  I like the idea of being able to explore multiple studios, because it will allow you to determine which studio may be your favorite.  If you have any additional questions feel free to comment below or send me a tweet @Domnthecity.  If you are already a member of ClassPass be sure to shout your favorite studio in the comment section.
